Busy Week!

We have had a busy week! Last Wednesday was Bailey's 6 month birthday. We had her professional pictures taken on Thursday. We will post them once we get them but here is a preview... Bailey and the fish. She loved playing in the water. We have loved on Mimi LOTS!!! and Mimi is a huge help, I am actually getting stuff done.
Bailey learned to eat cherries...
And loves them!!! But it is a huge mess.
(We can advertise for the stain fighting power of Oxi-clean)
Then on Saturday we had a HUGE birthday party for Grammy. Over a hundred people, including my uncle Kieth and his family from New Mexico.

The other stuff that wasn't documented in pictures... a new roof, 2 days with no swamp cooler, trying to sleep in 100+ temperatures, a new swamp cooler, and all the preparation for the party. Plus Dana was back east all week... Crazy is the word!!!

Mimi is here visiting!!!

Mimi (my dad's mom) is her visiting and helping me for the next 2 weeks! It is so good to have her here. This is the first day... everyone sitting around watching Bailey. 4 grown women and one cute baby and nothing getting done! Scooter rides with my uncle.
Playing on the table with the washcloth and Mimi.
Bailey's first tea party with her cousins. She ate watermelon and got really sticky.
Sticky, Sticky Baby!!!
and a bath in the sink. (to get rid of the sticky)

A big day!!!

Wednesday we got Bailey's heart fixed! We had to check in to the hospital at 6:00 am. This is Bailey in the littlest hospital gown they had... It was so cute. Then there was all of the pre-op tests (height, weight, head, blood pressure, etc.) She now weighs 13 pounds 1 ounce. She is 27 inches.
Dana and I got to walk Bailey into the operating room and I had to hold her arms down as they use gas to get her asleep. It was the saddest scariest thing I have had to do... She was out and they quickly kicked us out... then the waiting started. We were told it would be between 2-4 hours. We ate breakfast, prayed, bought Bailey new toys in the gift shop, prayed, paced and prayed.

After 1.5 hours, they called and said she was done and in recovery. It was easy and fast and she did wonderful. This is her just waking up. The one major hole was fixed with a platinum coil and the other hole was fixed by prayer because when the surgeon got in there the 2nd hole was too small to need fixing. Talk about miracles!!!

She got to spend the night in the hospital since she is so little. Jill and Bailey slept in the crib and Dana on the couch. Not the best nights sleep but we would do anything for Bailey!

You would never know that she just had heart surgery 24 hours previously. The only tell tale signs are 2 tiny puncture wounds in her groin and bruising on her hands from the IV. She is amazing!
Thank you all for all of your prayers, there is no doubt in my mind that they worked.

Jungle Quilt

Bailey received this beautiful quilt from Shirley Riggle... it is so fun and colorful and our new play spot. We do push ups on it.
And roll all over... and off of it.
And smile and laugh and play!
Thank you Shirley!!!

Bathing Beauties...

Bailey LOVES the water!!! We have a little plastic pool on the back deck that she swims in most days. Bath toys have become pool toys. So much fun!

4th of July

Happy 4th of July to one and all!!!!
We had a busy busy day of celebrating. To start with the entire family, 10 of us, went to Chili's for ribs to celebrate and remember Grampy, who passed away a year ago. (July 4th was his birthday and Chili's ribs were his favorite.) It was a great meal with lots of laughter and memories.

Bailey got to try her first rib. It was something new to hold on to and try to suck on. We really only let her have it long enough to snap a few pictures.

Bailey in her patriotic shirt. Grandma found it and it says "Baby's 1st Fourth"
So cute!!!

5 of us went to Mile High stadium to watch the outdoor lacrosse team, the Outlaws, and then the fireworks show. Notice that everyone was bundled in coats. It was cold and wet!
Happy July 4th !!!
