First Horse Race

One of Dana's friends sent Bailey the cutest rocking horse. The horse's mouth moves and it sings songs and makes noise. Dana quickly turned on the horse racing channel and is now teaching Bailey to be a jockey! (I hope she learns quickly because she is going to grow too big to be a real jockey!)

One week old

A little ladybug!
She is one week old today. It amazes me how fast some parts of the week have flown by and how some parts seem to never end. Bailey thinks i am her own personal buffet that is open 24 hours a day and she really only likes to eat between 11 - 4 at night. But during those hours she eats non-stop! Sleep is a luxury! Dana is a wonderful husband and has been taking care of her in the afternoons so that i get a 2 or 3 hour nap! She is so much fun to just sit and hold. I could stare at her for hours! She is also very kissable and hugable! Dana says i might be a little biased when i say she is the best and cutest baby in the whole world!

This is the new plan to gain weight... I nurse her and then pump and she get syringes full of milk.

Dad, Bailey and Ruby - all watching basketball. Dana is hoping that she grows up to play. Ruby isn't sure what to think yet.

Sleeping Beauties

She is the most beautiful baby in the whole world!

Bright eyes!

Still able to laugh, even with her screaming!

Sunday

WOW...What a ride! It has been an emotional, wonderful, crazy last 4 days!!!

Bailey and I got to come home from the hospital yesterday (Saturday) afternoon. Just barely thought... her biliruben count had to be below 15 and hers was 14. She had lost 10% of her body weight too, down to 6 pounds, 4 ounces. They wanted to keep her but we wanted to come home!

We all got settled and watched the Kentucky basketball game as a family. Dana dressed her in her Kentucky Wildcat pajamas and it must have brought the team luck. It was a good night with her sleeping 2 hours at at stretch between feedings and it was wonderful to sleep in our own bed.

Today, Sunday, the home health nurse came to check on us. I am doing great but Bailey is even more jaundice. Her number today was 18. They brought us a light box that she now has to spend as much time in as possible. This is really hard on me since i can't hold her, except to nurse. Dana is missing his holding time as much as me. The saving grace is that she doesn't seem to mind too much. I cry more than she does!

Does she look like a bathing beauty??

Now just a few pictures so that i can brag how beautiful she is...

Would you all please welcome to CENTER Stage

Bailey Rose Morian Holmes !!!

She was born into this world via C section at 5:19 AM on January 22, 2009. She tipped the scales at a whopping 7 pounds and was 20 inches long. Hopefully she'll grow in to her Morian genes because although she is brand new she is kinda short.

Jill's water broke at about 2 am on the 22 and little Bailey (aka Gummy bear) decided she didn't want to wait till her 10 am appointment proving that Bailey and Jill share the common trait of being stubborn and wanting to do things their own way. So Dana rushed Jill to the hospital and well..... the rest is history.

Thank you to everyone for all your support.

Thank you for all the blessing and prayers.

This public service announcement is brought to you by Bailey's Uncle Ty and Aunt Jana because Bailey and her parents are still at the hospital.

Thursday's child has far to go...

Tomorrow is the day we finally get to meet our new little bundle of joy!!!! In less than 24 hours, Dana and I will be parents. And if you believe what everyone has told us, our life is changing FOREVER! I am very excited and slightly scared. C-section was not the way I was planning on bringing this baby into the world, but the baby has different thoughts! At the doctor yesterday, we learned that the baby is firmly wedged in my pelvic bones and has no room to flip even if it wanted to. It must get it's stubbornness from Dana, since we all know that i don't have a stubborn bone in my body! :)

Please pray for Dana, the baby and myself tomorrow. Pray that i sail through the surgery easily and that the recovery is fast. Pray that the baby does perfect. Pray for Dana.

Dana will post pictures of the baby on Friday!

interesting 2 days

It has been an interesting 2 days... Yesterday at the doctor we found that the baby is still in the breech position. The doctor gave us a choice of scheduling a "version" (externally manually flipping the baby) or a C-section. We chose to try the flipping!

We had to be up at the hospital by 9:00 this morning to get prepped. The do an IV and make you sign consent forms just in case something goes really wrong and they need to do an emergency surgery. The doctor came in at 10:00 and told us all about the procedure. Basically they have 2 doctors try and forcibly turn the baby. They tried for about 10 minutes but the baby is really stubborn and would not turn. It must get the stubborn gene from Dana's side of the family, since i don't have a stubborn bone in my body! :) I can honestly say it didn't hurt but it was VERY uncomfortable! Now 6 hours after, I feel like my inside have been beaten with a baseball bat! Since the baby didn't turn on, we had to schedule a C-section... We will have a baby on the 22nd! I am still praying that it turns on it's own and i have a natural labor. We are doing acupuncture, moxa, chiropractic, homeopathic and inversion to try to convince the baby to flip. All of that just seems to make the baby mad so that no one sleeps at night! Keep us in your prayers and i will update if anything changes!

And now... the "Belly Pictures" for all to see...

No baby yet... but we are ready!

No baby yet... but we are ready! We have the nursery finished! It is a really cute jungle theme that will go with either sex baby. My friend Denise had the dresser and fan blades painted to match the room. We are ready for this little monkey to arrive!

The entire pregnancy my doctor has been telling me how lucky i am to be tall. I don't look huge, it has been a really easy pregnancy and i have had zero problems! Well that all changed yesterday... I am too tall and the baby has too much room. The baby is now breech because it has too much room and is doing flips! We learned that the baby isn't coming this week. The official due date is the 9th but the doctor is guessing closer to the 15th and only if it turns back to the head down position.

Happy 2009!!!

Happy 2009!!! I have finally decided to join the blogging world. I figure this will be a wonderful way to keep everyone up to date on our soon to be newest addition.

If you believe the doctors, we have 7 days to go until the baby arrives. But i am still really happy being pregnant! I think it is easier to take care of "gummy bear" inside me... once it comes out it sounds like it is going to be a lot more work!

We had a wonderful Christmas with lots of spoiling! The only downside was that i had a horrible sinus infection and wasn't quite up to par. Dana is excited about his present...a motorcycle to go mountain riding with my Dad and Ty. Doesn't he look like a professional biker?!?!

We hope you all have a wonderful, blessed year.
